  • Its that time of year again! where Syston Scout and Guide Band take to the stage of Wreake Valley College Theatre to entrain the public with there show called “Sticks and Tones”. This is written, produced and performed by members of the Band. The Show gives all the band members a chances to show off there musical and other talents and have fun putting on a show. Plus this year Syston S&G Band welcome their special guests 5th Leek and District Scout and Guide Band. They will be performing their musical set piece plus a mass item with Syston. Tickets are now available, please call Dave Lucas on 07719 553847 to book your tickets. Discounts are available for Scout and Guide Groups (please see below)

  • Thurmaston Marching Brass were the big winners at this years TYMBA National Championships, which where held at Dewsbury Sports Centre on 24th November. Thurmaston came away with winning the contest, the National Class League and also the Drum Major League. for more details click here
  • Syston Scout & Guide Band OPEN EVENING 27th November 2013 @ Syston Scout Hall 7pm till 9pm. Open to all to come down and have a go and see what the band gets up to. All welcome Rainbows, Beavers, Brownies, Cubs, Guides, Scouts, Rangers, Explorers & All Parents. Also non scout & guide members welcome.

  • Members of Syston Scout and Guide Band Paraded the Streets with 5th Leek Scout and Guide Band for the annual Leek(Staffordshire) Club Day – or walking round day, On Saturday 13th July. This Hot Summer day saw more than 800 people come together from all walks of life to honor traditions since 1828. The Club Day has managed to adapt to ever-changing times while maintaining its core principles and ideologies.This open-air service and procession includes hymn singing, banners and bands with members of local schools, scout and guide groups, church members and Sunday school Children all taking part.
  • Well Done to Thurmaton and Syston for this weekends results at the first competition of the 2013 TYMBA season. The 24th Halesowen Youth Marching Band Championships were for the forth time held along side the Borough of Dudley’s Armed Forces Day celebrations at Himley Hall. Moreton lead the way in the Championship class with Syston a close second and Thurmaston Marching Brass named National Class winners. For the full result please click here
  • On the 15th - 16th June 2013, 9 members of Syston Scout and Guide band travelled to Leek (Staffordshire) to help pass on their knowledge and experience, to train up the new members of the 5th Leek Scout and Guide Band. This was a very successful weekend, culminating in a joint band presentation for parents & guests, of music & marching, with pieces from both Syston & Leek S&G Bands.
